So over the weekend I decided to look at old letters that Joshua wrote me while he was at BEAST over the summer! And I stumbled upon one letter that I absolutely adored. He was telling me about what he would say to someone if they asked him how he got to be where he was today (West Point).
His response: "Because I told myself that I would get here. In life, if you want something then it is up to you and only you to get it. Nobody is ever a victim of circumstances because they make the circumstances. Often in my life I was told "no" or "you aren't good enough" or "you can't do that". But I laughed picked my head up, and said "yes" and "I am more than good enough" and "watch me". If and when I got an answer I didn't want to hear, I worked my ass off to manipulate the -circumstances- and get the answer I wanted. Nothing in life is free or easy. To get what you want in life, first tell yourself you are going to get it. Second, execute. (work your ass off and don't stop!) Third and finally, take what is yours. They only person stopping you, is you. So, why are you holding yourself back? I came to realize the moment I stepped out from in front of myself to beside myself, that literally nothing or no one could stop me. I stopped blocking myself and started supporting myself, and now I can do anything."
How powerful are those words? I read it and I could feel the sparks in my soul flickering. Whatever I want in this world I can achieve it. I just have to set my mind to it and work my ass off to get it! Even if I fail a few times, or someone tells me no I have to keep pursuing it! So this week, I'm stepping out of my comfort zone. I'm going to do something that scares me, and if I get told no...I'm not going to give up. I'm going to work my ass off to make it happen! And I challenge all you to do the same! Share in the comments what you want to do this week to challenge yourself!
